Makin' Waves Release Party! and only 5 more days to win an I-Top tool package!

I have to apoligize...my post stayed in "draft" mode instead of being posted.  You can see all the fun today ;)

I don't know about you, but I'm definitely ready for summer weather.
We get hit hard with cold temperatures here in Utah, and though I love the snow, I'm ready for fun in the sun!

This week on the Imaginisce Blog it's Makin' Waves Release Week.  The designers have created lots of bright colored, warm weathered, cute and happy summer projects that we can't wait to share with you.  Lucky for me, I get to share my projects with you today!!!

"Hot Summer Days"
This layout is about our family trip to California.  We had a great time in the heat and sun until we went to the beach.  We weren't aware of "June Gloom" and the beach was freezing :)
We had a good time anyway.
The inspiration for the layout came from the "Summer Fun" die-cut in the lower left corner.  It gave me the idea to do the entire layout with equal size squares.  I did some subtle stitching and used lots of dimensional foam adhesive under the die cuts.  I also used the i-Rock under the title.  The little blue studs add a lot to the layout.

"Makin' Waves"
My family spends a LOT of time at the beach all summer long.  Here in Utah we get the best of both worlds: great snow in the winter for skiing and snowboarding, and hot summers with great lakes for boating, water skiing and wakeboarding.  We're big into outdoor adventure here :)
I have endless "boating" photos, but this one's a darling shot of my two boys who are best friends playing together in the sand next to the beautiful blue Bear Lake.
I used an i-Rock flourish Motif on this layout, which accentuates the look of the waves.  The i-Rock is really a fun tool, and since I love any form of "bling" it's a favorite of mine.  This flourish comes like this on heat resistant plastic that you just iron on with the i-Rock mini iron.  It makes really fast work.  They're also great for fabric application.  I also misted the layout with Tattered Angels glimmer mist in Turquoise.  It gives the illusion of real water mist spraying off the waves.
