Doodlebug "Neighbor Gift Ideas"- Caramel Apples

Our traditional neighbor gifts are Caramel Apples.  We've been making these babies since 2006, and they're a labor of love, let me tell you. :)

We buy the biggest granny smith apples we can find, and the best caramel and white chocolate coating, and we've perfected the technique. Most of the time we add cinnamon-sugar to the outside, but we've also done toffee, candies, or chocolate drizzles.  Yummy!!!

(The cinnamon-sugar is my favorite- just like Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory)

I made this super simple card using Doodlebug's "Simply Put" cards, added it to a white piece of cardstock and then a green cardstock base, and then added a sticker with dimensional adhesive, and a "Mini Bow" that are Doodlebug's cute little embellishment kits that coordinate with the "Home for the Holidays" collection.

The apple was simply dressed with another bow, some twine, and a sticker!

Doodlebug Fall Wreath and Thankful Layout

This wreath should appear sometime on the Doodlebug Blog, but for now, I thought I'd show you since we're leaving the fall season and entering winter.

The wreath was done by cutting various shaped and sized leaves from my Silhouette Cameo using Doodlebug's Happy Harvest collection.

The leaves were then scored with my Scor-Pal to make them more life-like

And then folded to create dimension

I used grapevine to make the wreath base.  You can either make the wreath this way, by wrapping it in a circle and then tying it with craft (floral) wire, 

Or they do make grapevine wreaths already done for you.  I just had grapevine on hand already so that's what I used.  It's a bit difficult to work with and makes a huge mess, so do it outside.

The leaves were all adhered using a glue gun.

And the banner was also cut with the Cameo.  The font is Times New Roman.

I also made this layout for the blog, and since yesterday was Thanksgiving, I wanted to thank you all for being such great supporters of my blog and my work.  I love having great comments and emails from readers.

Doodlebug Halloween Mini Album (part 2)

If you've been a reader of mine for a while now (a couple of years)

you may remember a mini album I did for Doodlebug Design two years ago.

I just love the washi tape by Doodlebug.  It's by far the cutest out there.

Doodlebug Pixies-Halloween Layout

The Doodlebug Design Team was challenged to use the new Pixies embellishments in a new way.

Pixies come with sticks and toppers in a pack, and are meant to be used like I used them in the bottom left corner, but they can also be used in a lot of other creative ways.

I chose to use them to make a black spiderweb, and I used Beetle Black Doodle Twine to complete the effect.  I used Crystal Effects adhesive but you can use any liquid adhesive like Zip Dry as well.

I used the Halloween Parade collection, and the new stickers and Doodads.

I think I've used Doodads on almost all of my new Doodlebug Projects.

These are fun new embellishments!  They add fun texture and dimension to your projects!

Goofball! A Doodlebug Layout

This is my adorable little boy who has the most entertaining personality on the planet.

He posed for these pictures three years ago, and I've been waiting to figure out what to do with them all.

It's so funny that these glasses actually fit on the picture :)

It fits his goofy personality perfectly.

The "Day to Day" collection by Doodlebug has the most fun little embellishments called "Pixies."

I am so excited to do a party with these things, and use them as food toppers.

But they're great for papercrafting and anything else you'd want to do with them.

I love them on cards.

And my other favorite embellishments are these adorable little "Doodads."

They're buttons, that actually have a pin on the back, so you could wear them if you wanted to!

Check out the Day to Day collection.

You'll love the bright colors, and fun cameras, eyeglasses, mustaches, and people.

It's just plain cute :)

Doodlebug Happy Harvest Layout

Doodlebug has some gorgeous new collections from CHA, and Happy Harvest is my favorite of the new collections.  I love what they've done with the colors, and the fall/Thanksgiving theme is so new and refreshing.  Doodlebug has never done a Thanksgiving themed line before.

The Mini Flowers are one of my favorite embellishments.  They are the perfect size, they are so quick and easy because they're done for you, and you can mix and match small and large flowers and the colors and the leaves to make whatever kind of flower you want!

They also have new "Sprinkles" enamel dots that are adhesive.  I stuck them to the centers of several flowers and throughout the background of the layout.  These are fun embellishments and add shine and texture.

Doodlebug always does great stickers and die cuts.  Don't you just love the colors?  And the awesome woodgrain!  Makes me excited for fall.

Back To School "Teacher Gift Tower"- Doodlebug Design

Doodlebug Halloween Project

Where have I been?

Well.....

my brother got married

the kiddos started school again

I'm preparing to interview for a new job

and... I'm starting graduate school Monday to get my Master's degree

First up, I made these cute little Halloween Party Invitations for the Doodlebug Blog.

I'm loving this new collection and their new embellishments:

Mini Pockets

Doodads (badges)

Simply Put Cards (4x6 card packs)

and Sprinkles! (which you'll see soon on another project)

This is a fun way to create party invitations.  Just use a Simply Put 4x6 card, add a Mini Pocket, and embellish.  Easy easy.

I added some Doodle Twine and some stickers and Fancy Frills border stickers.

Just write your message on the card for a fast invitation!

Doodlebug "Project Life" Spread- 4th of July

Did you know Doodlebug makes divided page protectors and Simply Put 4x6 cards for all your "Project Life"-type projects?  They have them for all their newest collections and they make scrapbooking so fast and easy.

I used the Stars and Stripes collection on this spread, and the stickers, twine and star jewels add so much to the layout.

just add a card, embellish a bit with a few little things, and you're done!
