Lifestyle Crafts CHA Winter 2012 Release

The Winter 2012 Craft & Hobby Association (CHA) Trade Show is going on right now in Anaheim, California and Lifestyle Crafts is there, along with Doodlebug, Imaginisce, Brookie Crafts, and hundreds of other craft companies, showcasing their newest product lines.  It's the largest gathering of craft-related companies and is like the Scrapbook Expo on steroids.  I can't tell you how much I'd love to be there right now... but since I'm not, I'm perusing the web looking at all the fun pictures people are taking, and having fun seeing all the newest scrapbooking paper lines and tools that are coming out soon.  It's so exciting!

My wallet is definitely going to suffer.

Lifestyle Crafts has new products and I'm going to show you some of the projects I made to send to their booth at CHA using some of their fun new dies.  This is a HUGE release, and not all the dies are featured here, but it'll give you a small taste :)

There are some really beautiful new border dies, as well as three new doily dies and Nesting Butterflies!
The green, red, and blue strips are all border dies, and they're all 12" long, perfect for scrapbooking.
I've been waiting a long time for butterflies, and here they are, and two of the doily shapes are on this layout as well.  There's also another new nesting die set called Nesting Frames 9, and is on the photo above, under the green doily.

I really love the soft vintage feel of the border dies.  They are some of my favorites from this release.
The paper is by Stampin' Up!

They've also come out with lots of new fun box dies.  This one's the Berry Container.
I made the strawberries using the Nesting Blossom and Nesting Spray dies from the Possibilities release.  I thought they'd be a fun addition to the Berry Container.
I made a step-by-step photo tutorial on how to make these strawberries that I'll post on my blog sometime soon.  The paper is "Country Drive" by Echo Park.
The white flower on the front of the container is from the Nesting Spray die set as well.

Here's another fun box- the Milk Carton die.  I LOVE this die, and I can see myself using it for Easter treats for my kids.  Wouldn't it be fun to make a set of them, and a fun box to put them in?  I think I'm going to :)
This darling paper is also "Country Drive" by Echo Park.
The clip is Stampin' Up! and the twine is from The Twinery.

This cute box is called the "Treat Box" and comes with different styles of flowers or labels to use on top.
Or, on this one, I thought it would be fun to use a sucker instead.
I put the label on the front that comes with the set.  The rhinestones and heart are I-Rock gems from Imaginisce.  The paper is by Creative Imaginations.

This is the "Pop Up Box."  It's great because the closure is interchangeable.  You can either put a flower, heart, or butterfly on top.  Then it folds and closes through a slit on the top of the box.
I also used one of the new border dies on this box.
The paper, pearl, and ribbon are Stampin' Up!

There are also some new envelope sets.  This one is the Eyelet Envelope Set,
and it also comes with a mini envelope to match. (paper- American Crafts, brads Making Memories)

And this one is the Basic Envelope Set, and it comes with labels, a card die, and a mini version as well.
I letterpressed the "congratulations" using the L Letterpress and the Letterpress starter kit plates.
Silver glitter cardstock- Doodlebug, solid cardstock- Stampin' Up!

This card features the third new doily, Nesting Frames 9, the Nesting Butterflies, and another border die.
The paper is by My Mind's Eye and the ribbon is Stampin' Up!

This is the Pinwheel die, and is a really great die, because you can make real 3D pinwheels that spin!
These would be so cute as party decor!
The set comes with dies to embellish the center. (paper- My Mind's Eye)

There's also a new Megaphone die.
I added a star from the new Stars die, which is a "punch" die set with 8 large and 12 small stars.

And my last little project is the "Hamburger Box."
Paper and ribbon are by Stampin' Up!

There are so many more dies than are shown here.  This release is huge.
Check out the Lifestyle Crafts website and L Blog to see the entire line, as well as more projects using these great new dies.  And as always, you can get 20% off your order of these and any other Lifestyle Crafts products when you enter "RHINESTONES" at checkout from the online store.

Valentine's Day "Door Hanger Treat Holders" Tutorial! And an Imaginisce Design Team Spotlight!

First of all, I'm so excited to be spotlighted on the Imaginisce Blog today!  Throughout the month of January they're introducing each member of this year's design team, and today's my day!  Come stop by their blog to learn more about me, my family, and my "crafty side."  I'm so excited to be designing for them this year!

Now onto today's project-
Aren't these treat holders cute?
I think my kids are going to be pretty excited on Valentine's Day to see these hanging on their bedroom doors.
They're made with Doodlebug's new "Sweet Cakes" collection.
I have a full step-by-step tutorial for you on how to make these on the Doodlebug Blog today.
Come stop by and check it out!
Isn't this a cute gift idea?
And the decorations are super easy, too.
I just used Doodlebug's stickers and cute cuts die-cuts, some ribbon, and Doodlebug designer brads.

Doodlebug "Doodles" Sketch Card- "Lovebirds"

These two lovebirds are a Doodle Pops cardstock sticker from Doodlebug Design.
I layered them on top of two cute cuts die-cuts from the new Sweet Cakes collection.

This card is featured on the Doodlebug Blog today as part of a sketch challenge.
Here's the sketch we were given, created by Page Maps:
I turned the sketch on it's side and replaced the flower with the bird sticker, and instead of the notebook edge, I did the large cute-cuts die cut with the red edge.  The red, white and silver are striking against each other.  Beneath the cute-cuts I used chenille cardstock.  It's flocked with a beautiful soft white pattern.

I used the new Valentine's Doodle Twine in grey around the two birds.  I'm absolutely in love with this twine, and all the other fun colors of Doodle Twine.  I love that Doodle Twine is thicker and more soft and bold than traditional baker's twine.
See the shine?  That's Doodlebug's sugar coated cardstock in silver.  I've been using a ton of this stuff lately.  Doodlebug came out with lots of new colors in their sugar coated cardstock recently and I'm in love with the silver!  And it matches the sticker perfectly, too.

Imaginisce "Sole Sisters" Projects!

Today on the Imaginisce Blog is the first day of the Sole Sisters Release Party!
All week long on the Imaginisce Blog we'll have projects from the Sole Sisters line from the new Design Team, so stop by each day for more fun inspirational ideas!

You can find the entire line of papers, stamps, and embellishments HERE on the Imaginisce website.

Here are some projects that I created using this fun new line:

"Best Friends" layout

This layout features Soul Sisters chipboard embellishments, die cuts, and darling patterned papers.  It also features my  favorite Imaginisce tool, the i-Rock!  This fun little tool adds "bling" to your projects by heat setting it and giving it a permanent hold.  It's great for fabric, too.

This layout is dear to me because it it about my two first best friends.  When I was little, I did everything with these two, we were joined at the hip.  I have so many wonderful memories of my childhood with them.  This photo was taken when we were all 4 years old.  We stayed best friends until my family had to move away when I was 11, and then we grew apart, and a few years ago the girl in the middle was hit by a car and killed.  Photos like this are precious to me not only because they remind me of my childhood, but because sometimes the people we love can't be with us forever and we need a way to cherish their memory.

 "Thanks a Bunch" Card

This card was a fun one to make and features one of Imaginisce's "Snag-Em" stamps.
I love using stamps and I'm so excited that Imaginisce makes them for every line they create!

"Shoe" Card

This card is so fun!  I love the houndstooth paper, and I love grey and yellow together.  It makes a bold statement and this card is great for so many different occasions!  I also used the i-Rock for the black studs on this card.  It adds a "pop" and some dimension and shine.

Thank you so much for stopping by and don't forget to visit the Imaginisce Blog every day for more fun projects from the 2012 Design Team! (And a giveaway!!!)

More Sweetheart Release Projects

The Sweetheart Release was so much fun for me because I love Valentine's Day.  I love the holidays that are just "fun" holidays- they exist for us to just go out and have a good time and celebrate.
Kind of like Halloween.  It's just fun.
I love all the lovey-dovey, romantic dinner, chocolate covered strawberry, "make-a-big-deal-out-of-me" kind of fun.
Any excuse to go out on a date and get dessert is fabulous in my book,
know what I mean?

So on with the theme of dessert, here's my first card:
Mmmmmmm, cupcakes :)
Isn't the Baked Goods die darling?  It's so funny how until a couple of years ago I hated pink and hearts and girly things.  Then I had a girl.  Whoa- amazing how that'll change your life.  Now I wear jewelry, and curl my hair, and wear makeup most of the time, and have PINK CLOTHES! and make girly pink cutesy cupcake cards.  LOVE IT!
I think this was my favorite of all my Sweetheart Release projects.  Isn't it cute enough to eat?  I used glossy accents on the hearts and the cherry to give them some dimensional shine.

This next card features, a HEART!  I never would have created a card like this a couple of years ago :)
I've come to terms with hearts and am now quite fond of them.
It's kinda vintage-y.  I like it.  This is the Heart Doily Die.  Isn't it beautiful?  And it cuts like a dream.  I layered it over the top of a Nesting Heart cut from rich razzleberry cardstock from Stampin' Up!  All of these projects feature Stampin' Up! cardstock and ribbon.

One more card, this one features the Hearts and Nesting Hearts dies as well as Lifestyle Crafts new Whimsy embossing folder set.  I am a huge fan of embossing folders.  I love texture and dimension in my projects.
And Valentines Day isn't complete without gifts to go along with your cute cards.  This treat box features the Cake die and the Bakery Box die
And on this one I used the Pillow Box die, the Hearts die, and the Nesting Doily Hearts dies.
The twine is also from Stampin' Up!

Come back on Monday and see my first official Imaginisce Design Team projects as we introduce you to our newest line- Sole Sisters!  I'm so excited to show you what I created with this release!
Thanks for visiting!

Sweetheart Release "Engagement Day" Layout- Lifestyle Crafts, Discount Code, and Another GIVEAWAY!

Lifestyle Crafts released it's newest dies yesterday called Sweetheart.  Today I'll show you a layout I did using the Hearts die, and later in the week I'll show you the rest of my projects, including lots of cards.

This is my husband and I the day we got engaged.  He took me on a long hike up to our favorite spot in the mountains above the city where we live and proposed to me.  It was Christmas morning.  I can't even tell you how amazing that day was.  I'll never forget it.
These hearts were done using the Hearts die.

The ruffled ribbon is from Stampin' Up!'s newest catalog, and the ruffled-looking edge was done using the Edge-It's die set.
The paper and embellishments are from an SEI pack called Chocolat.

Here are all the new dies in the release.
And as always, you can save 20% on your online purchase HERE when you type in coupon code RHINESTONES at checkout.
