Pebbles "Special Delivery" Baby Boy Layouts

This month, since I'm expecting a baby, I decided to start catching up on my other children's baby scrapbook pages.  Here are two of my boys' layouts.  I'll show you my girl layout in a few days when it's on the Pebbles blog.

I used the "Special Delivery" boy collection for these pages.  The tags and banners and die cuts were already cut and come in a pack full of other adorable die cuts.

The Thickers letter stickers in this collection are some of my absolute favorites.

This patterned paper reminded me of a quilt, so I machine stitched it on all the borders to make it look like it's quilted.

The animal die cuts are from the same die cut pack.  There are also lots of stickers from the Accent and Phrase Stickers sheets.

Here's a good close up shot of the Thickers.  Aren't they great?  I love them.

THREE Bella Blvd Fabric Projects!

As you can tell, I haven't blogged much lately.  Honestly this pregnancy is kicking my butt and I don't have the energy to get through all I have to do in a day and do all the extras, too.  So I'll catch you up a bit in the next little while.

First up- THREE fabric projects for Bella Blvd.  I can't believe how long it's been since I've blogged, that these are not on my blog yet.

Hexagon Puppy Park Quilt

I'm not really much of a quilter, and I've had this project on my "to do" list for a long time now, but I was surprised when I finally made it. It was really not as bad as I thought it would be.
Bella Blvd_Puppy Quilt_Tiffany Hood_detail 4 jelly roll
This is what's called a "jelly roll quilt." I was given a "jelly roll" of Bella Blvd's Puppy Park fabric line, and the quilt pattern is "jelly roll compatible." Jelly rolls are packs of pre-cut fabric that include the entire fabric line. There are also "charm packs" and "layer cakes" and other types of pre-cut fabric packs. They cut your time down significantly, and are a convenient way of getting lots of patterns.

The quilt is a series of strips, cut into triangles, and then arranged into hexagons. It was a really fun one to make. I added a bit more border, so mine turned out a few inches larger than the pattern, and I used fleece on the back to make it extra cozy for movies on the couch.

Supplies:
Bella Blvd Puppy Park Fabric Jelly Roll; 6 oz thick batting; black fleece (for back); red fabric (for trim); Creative Grids Non-Slip 60 degree triangle ruler; Hexagon Garden 'Just One Jelly Roll' Pattern by Pam & Nicky Lintott/The Quilt Room

Cooking Set

This set was made using "Insul-Brite" insulated lining inside. Insul-Brite is like batting, but it's filled with pieces of metal and is used to line projects that hold hot items, such as hot pads, curling iron bags, ironing board covers, and in this case, a casserole dish caddy and oven mitt.

These projects feature the new Summer Breeze fabrics by Bella Blvd for Riley Blake Fabrics. I love the colors in this line, and the patterns are adorable. The prints I chose from the line are all turquoise, yellow, and orange. My favorite is the turquoise print on the oven mitt. I need more of that for sure!

The caddy is basically two long rectangles (36"x12" each) bound and then sewn together in the center crossed perpendicularly. The edges were rounded using a dinner plate as a guide. Sew on velcro and then straps last. The oven mitt was done using a free pattern found online (www.youcanmakethis.com).
When sewing items like this, you'll want to use a Jeans needle because you'll be sewing through 8 layers of thick materials. There is an inner and outer layer of fabric, plus the Insul-Brite, and a thick layer of pre-quilted batting inside too. I chose to sandwich all the layers and then "quilt" them using diagonal stitches before making the project to add to the durability when washed (and because it looks cute).
Supplies:
Summer Breeze cotton fabrics by Bella Blvd for Riley Blake Fabrics; 1 yard of Insul-Brite (enough for one caddy and two oven mitts); 1 yard of pre-quilted batting; White bias tape (border of caddy); Velcro (secures the caddy closed)

Pillowcase Dress

These cute pillowcase dresses are a great project for the beginning sewer. If you know the basics, and can make a pillowcase, you can probably make one of these. This one is a little more advanced because I added more layers to the bottom, and I made my own bias tape (the pink around the arms that ties) because making your own allows you to coordinate it.

Pebbles "Yours Truly" Layout

Happy Valentine's Day!
Hope yours was as fabulous as mine, with loved ones, and lots of treats.

This layout was on the Pebbles blog last week.  A pretty easy layout, which uses 6x6 paper sheets to make it quick.

I used the tags pack and stickers (chipboard and paper) and a Lifestyle Crafts die to cut the doily.
I misted the doily with a Mr. Huey's mist.

The stickers were applied using dimensional adhesive.

Pebbles "Yours Truly" Valentine's Cards

I'm loving the "Yours Truly" collection!  I played with it again today and made a layout that you'll see soon on the Pebbles blog.  I just love pink and aqua, and the elements in this collection are perfection.

These three cards are completely different and unique, and show the versatility of the Yours Truly collection.
This first one reflects my style the most.  I like white space and clustering.  I guess it's just what I do :)

But I also love cards with lots of interesting detail, and I love ribbon and big bows on cards.
I added a bit of sewing detail.

And this last one is a good balance between both.  Clean and cute.
Machine stitching again, and lots of dimensional foam adhesive.

My home is starting to fill with "Yours Truly" home decor, layouts, and cards.
They're everywhere, and there's more to come!

Pebbles Valentine's Decor Projects

I can't tell you how many hurdles I've had to endure lately.  It's been a while since I've blogged, but I think I'm finally back, and I'm excited to show you what I've been up to.

I've had no computer for a month.  It's the third computer to die in two years for us, so I'm down to a laptop for the time being, but it's a computer, so I'm doing my best while the computer is being fixed by the pro's.

Also- I'm expecting a baby!

I've been super sick and on top of it I've had three bouts of sinus infection/cold/pneumonia in two months.
One thing after another.....

But I'm back :)

The "Yours Truly" collection from Pebbles is one of my favorite Valentine's collections ever.  The colors are beautiful.  I love the aqua and pink and red, and the elements are all well designed and on trend.

I made this banner out of wood and embellished it with patterned paper, stickers, Chips chipboard elements, twine, tags, and dimensional adhesive.

This is my favorite 3x4 card in this collection.  Simple and striking.  The cards come in the Phrase Cards pack and are always one of my favorite embellishments from Pebbles.  I combined the card with a dimensional sticker and some of my favorite patterned papers from the collection.

I added Pebbles Glitter Candy Dots to the centers of these flowers from the Dimensional Stickers pack for dimension and shine, and the heart and arrow are from the Phrase and Accent sticker sheet.

These tags are fabulous, and I used them on both of these projects.  They come pre-made in a variety pack and every one of them is adorable.  I love the chalkboard look.

And these paper strips are the barcode strips from the patterned paper.  I always keep these and use them on cards, scrapbook pages, and other projects.

My other project is another wood decor piece.  This one was done with Mod-Podge and a bit of glitter.  These letters and the banner pieces above were purchased un-finished from a wood store called Wood Creations here in Utah.

I traced the letters onto patterned paper, cut them out, and then Mod-Podged the paper shapes onto the wood.  I then Mod-Podged over the top of the paper to protect it from damage during storage.

The tag is from the Tags pack I mentioned above.  It's super cute by itself, so I simply tied it onto my ribbon.

I used a lot of Chips chipboard pieces on these two projects.  I love the dimension chipboard brings to projects.  Here are more Glitter Candy Dots, this time in aqua.

And after adhering this patterned paper strip to the front of this painted wood block, I painted Mod Podge around the border with a foam brush and poured glitter over the top (over a tray, of course, to save the excess).  The glitter is Wow Extra Fine Glitter by American Crafts.

Thanks for visiting!  More projects soon, including some fun ones I made in January!
